John A. Burns School of Medicine

In 2014, during my junior year of college, I began working as a public relations intern at the University of Hawaiʻi John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) in the Office of Public Relations and Communications, under the direction of distinguished news anchor and journalist Ms. Tina Shelton. After graduating, I continued working with the JABSOM Communications team until June 2017. Below are photos I took for UH Med Now, JABSOM’s news blog.

They paddled the canoe offshore, saying prayers and singing, then stopped to lowered the puʻolo into the gentle waves, allowing Henderson’s cremains to settle into the clear, turquoise-tinted sea. They left lei and flower blossoms floating in the ocean above his final resting place.”
